DATE: April 19, 2018 <br /> TO: SHELTON MASON COUNTY JOURNAL <br /> IFIBERONE NEWS RADIO <br /> FROM: LISA FRAZIER, MASON COUNTY TREASURER <br /> RE: PRESS RELEASE - PROPERTY TAXES DUE <br /> Mason County Treasurer, Lisa Frazier, would like to remind the taxpayers that 1St half <br /> property tax payments for the year 2018 are due, Monday, April 30th 2018. You may <br /> come into the Treasurer's office at 411 N 5th St., Bldg. 1 (2nd Floor) and pay in person <br /> between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or use the payment drop box outside the <br /> main doors to Bldg. 1. <br /> Payments may be mailed, however payments must be postmarked no later than April <br /> 30, 2018 to be considered on time and avoid interest charges. Please be sure to check <br /> with your local post office for collection hours to be sure your payment will be <br /> postmarked timely. Due to recent postal changes, postmarks and delivery can be <br /> delayed, please mail early to avoid interest and penalty charges. <br /> Delinquent interest will be charged on May 1st at one percent per month. An additional <br /> penalty of 3 percent is assessed on the total amount of tax delinquent on June 1St and <br /> additional 8 percent is assessed on the total amount of tax delinquent on December 1St <br /> of the year in which the tax is due. <br /> The Treasurer's office offers credit/debit card payment services at the counter, online <br /> and by phone through Point N Pay. We accept Visa, Master Card, Discover and <br /> American Express. Property Tax information is available on our website at <br /> . There is a fee <br /> associated with the use of debit and credit cards for the payment of property taxes <br /> pursuant to RCW 36.29.190. <br /> Please note that if you have been assessed DNR Fire Patrol Assessment on more than <br /> one parcel of property owned by you in Mason County, you may be entitled to a refund <br /> from the Washington State Department of Natural Resources. Refunds requests must <br /> be received on or before December 31, 2018. Fire Patrol Refund forms can be found <br /> on our website at under Forms/Brochures/Handouts, or <br /> picked up at our office. <br /> Please note that office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., due to budget cuts, we will no <br /> longer be able to extend office hours during tax time, my apologies for any <br /> inconvenience, this may cause.
