RESOLUTION NO 2020-07(formally known as 20-07) <br /> A RESOLUTION amending the Equipment Rental and Revolving Fund —Amending Resolution 1277; <br /> Deleting Resolution 34-87; Amending Resolution 57-00 <br /> WHEREAS, the Equipment Rental and Revolving Fund was established by adoption of Resolution No. <br /> 850 on January 3, 1978 and the purpose of the Fund has evolved over time; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Equipment Rental and Revolving Fund was expanded by adoption of Resolution No. <br /> 1277 on December 15, 1980 to include Current Expense and Special Revenue Fund vehicles and other <br /> equipment; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Equipment Rental and Revolving Fund was further expanded by adoption of Resolution <br /> 56-86 on June 10, 1986 to establish a Motor Pool; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Equipment Rental and Revolving Fund was expanded again by adoption of Resolution <br /> 34-87 on May 12, 1987 to include telephone equipment and operations. The telephone equipment and <br /> operations function was removed from the Equipment Rental and Revolving Fund in the 2014 budget <br /> process by establishment of the Information Technology Fund #500; and <br /> WHEREAS, Resolution 57-00 was adopted on June 20, 2000 establishing all computer systems, <br /> telephone systems, vehicles, and public works equipment shall be controlled by Equipment Rental and <br /> Revolving Fund; <br /> WHEREAS, the Mason County Sheriff, after considerable review and analysis in 2012 and 2013, entered <br /> into a vehicle lease agreement in 2014 as this proved to be an efficient method for the County to acquire <br /> necessary vehicles; <br /> WHEREAS, on October 1, 2019 a Request for Proposals was issued for County Fleet Leasing and <br /> Maintenance Services. One proposal was received and on January 14, 2020 the Mason County <br /> Commissioners made the decision to enter into a fleet management lease agreement and remove all <br /> Current Expense and Public Health vehicles from the Equipment Rental and Revolving Fund. <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF MASON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS to <br /> amend Resolutions #1277 and #57-00 and delete Resolution #34-87 removing all Current Expense and <br /> Public Health Fund vehicles and equipment and all computer and telephone systems from the Equipment <br /> Rental and Revolving Fund and direct the Equipment Rental and Revolving Fund staff to work with the <br /> appropriate staff for a smooth and efficient transition of vehicles and equipment. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Current Expense and Public Health Fund fleet transition will be <br /> finalized no later than March 31, 2020 and the Director of Support Services shall be the responsible party <br /> for the management of the Current Expense and Public Health Fund vehicle fleet. <br /> ADOPTED this 215'day of January, 2020 <br /> BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> ATTEST: MASON COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br /> '4�� <br /> Metiss ry, Cler of the Board '—Sharon Tra , Chair <br /> APPRO O FORM: Randy Neatherlin, Commissioner <br /> Tim Whitehead, Chief Deputy Prosecuting Kevin Shutty Commissioner <br /> Attorney <br />
